7 Good Reasons for Translating Menus in Hotel Restaurants

Looking at these numbers, it is clear that the potential for attracting foreign customers is huge – and by providing menus in various languages hotel restaurants can definitely expand their customer base greatly. Travellers who have travelled abroad know how frustrating it can be to eat in restaurants that do not offer their services in other languages than their native language. Only a small part of travellers fully understand the local language and even a smaller part knows about the local specialities, so choosing and ordering food often demands a lot of effort and causes a lot of confusion in the process. And confused customers are definitely not happy customers! Another little story (involving my parents again): Many years ago (their language skills were still limited to Romanian), they went to… Foreign customers that are confused about choosing and ordering food are also far more likely to complain about their food or restaurant service in general.

To make it less stressful for you, we’ve rounded up some simple summer travel tips to ease your planning woes-whether you’re travelling by land, sea, or air. Make a list – before you start stuffing your bag, make a written list first. It helps to prioritize important things like toiletries, gadgets, first aid kit, and other emergency staples. It’s wise to put similar items together to make it easier for you to access. If you have medicines, make sure to check expiration dates and label them accordingly. Bring dual-purpose garments – you don’t necessarily have to sacrifice the fashionista in you if you bring clothes you can re-use. A scarf can be used as a cover up, a blanket, or a pillow. Bring neutral colors for bottoms to easily match your tops. Also remember to roll, not fold your clothes. Put gadget accessories in a small pouch – carry tech stuff like chargers and cables in a small pouch inside your carry-on bag to make it more accessible for you.

Once you qualify for a card, or several cards, there’s always the chance that you’ll end up spending more than you’ve got. A pretty good chance, actually. The next section discusses what you can do if you find yourself in credit card debt. Millions of Americans have learned the hard way how easy it is to use and abuse their credit cards, and how difficult it can be to pay them off. Here are some credit card debt elimination tips. Always be aware of all of the fees that may be associated with your credit card. Know the annual fees, current interest rates, finance charges, cash-advance fees and any other fees tied in with your card. This knowledge can help you make better decisions on how to manage your card. Cash advances can be trouble. You should only get cash advances when it is absolutely necessary. Higher interest rates than you’re paying for card purchases are usually charged, and most banks also charge a service fee related to how much cash you’re withdrawing.

The first time I heard that the World Cadet Championships (for ages 8-12) will be held in Santiago de Compostela I felt excited. After all, we all have heard about the famous Spanish hospitality, food and traditions. I have experienced those in this same area – Galicia. In fact, many of the Bulgarian grandmasters and international masters got their norms and even titles at tournaments there, as part of the Galician summer circuit. Some worrying signs started to appear when we (trainers, parents and players) tried to contact the organisers. Since I was about to coach two players from different countries, it was mandatory for us to stay in the same hotel. We wrote simultaneously to the organiser with a request and were assured that we shall stay in the same TRYP hotel – but only after many emails, the majority of which went unanswered. However, roughly a week before the event we were mysteriously relocated to different hotels, without any explanation.

From the high-level closed Round Robin at London, the Open Swiss event at the Qatar Masters Open provided a refreshing change. At this tournament you could not only see the elite players crossing swords against each other, but also witness the young and upcoming 2500s and 2600s get a chance to fight it out against world class GMs. The tournament was open only to players above the rating of 2300. There were 132 participants from 30 different countries. India, as usual, sent the biggest contingent of 28 players, followed by Russia, which had 19. Out of these 132 players a whopping 124 were titled – 71 grandmasters and 36 International Masters. The Qatar Masters was rightly called as the strongest open tournament in the world. Magnus drew his first round game against IM Nino Batsiashvili, which became quite a sensation, but later came back strongly to score 7.0/9, with wins over GM Aravindh Chithambaram, IM Daniil Yuffa, GM Jan-Krzysztof Duda, GM Li Chao (which was his favourite game from the tournament), and GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov.
