Google has shut down trips app. Users can still access their information as most of the functionalities of Trips app will be available in Google Maps. Google Trips. Starting today (August 5), you won’t be able to use Trips app. From the past few years, Google has made its Maps and Gmail more productive and information friendly, where you can find almost all the information – from boarding passes to trip information to delays. While Trips won’t be available anymore, your information such as notes, saved places and reservations will still be available in search as till you are signed in to your Google account. Google will soon roll out an option to add or edit notes via Google’s travel portal. Google Trips has the advantage of having the largest search base at its core and gives many apps a run for their money. Offering customized tours, maps, guides and popping up information from restaurants and/or monuments that are close to your hotel, Google Trips is the best travel app you can have. The app collects all the travel information from your Gmail account, and stores it offline so you can access to it if you are out on a remote area with limited or no internet connectivity of without Wi-Fi. The app offers complete day guides in more than 200 major cities. Just fill your destination and click on Things to Do, and the app offers a wide range of categories – from top spots, kid-friendly things to the niche art destinations, parks and gardens. You can also save them as lists that include opening hours, addresses, and reviews.
