“It’s clear consumers want options . ” says Alison Salcedo, a spokesperson for StubHub. Consumers also tend to make calculation errors when they add up the total cost of fees, according to a recent study by researchers at the University of Chicago and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The researchers gave participants three options: a disclosure that added all the fees into one price, a complex disclosure that listed the price and fees separately, and a combination that listed the price and fees separately but also showed the total. Though the combo option was the most popular, most participants liked the complex presentation better than the simple all-in price, says Shannon Michelle White, the study’s lead researcher. But participants who were shown complex disclosures when trying to identify a lower-cost product often failed, with roughly half choosing a more expensive product. By contrast, most of those who received all-in-one disclosures correctly identified the low-cost versions.
Electronic files of the books will be stored in secure locations on publishers’ Internet sites and will travel to automated or manually operated book printing devices located near the customer. The MTI PerfectBook line includes the PerfectBook-040, a single-printer automated book device, and the PerfectBook-080, a dual-printer offering. Within the year Marsh expects the machines to cost under $100,000. The system prints a book’s pages on a laser printer, prints its cover on a color printer, glue-binds the two parts, and trims them automatically to a precise finish size, without the help of human hands. In addition, MTI provides several stand-alone systems that can do particular portions of this work. Among those are warehousing and returns problems, low-volume title preservation, out-of-print book revival, in-house publication printing, technical manual production, and educational publishing. New remnants are hot: When Scholastic Inc. released the first volume of the new K.A. 1: The Mayflower Project, a full month prior to the print book arriving in stores on June 15, they didn’t know what to expect.

One family friend told the Huizenga family biographer that the Floridian was “the most coveted private golf invitation in the world.” Those who worked and played there said the membership rolls were a Rolodex of the rich, famous and powerful: From Michael Douglas and Rush Limbaugh to Michael Bloomberg and former Vice President Dan Quayle. Donald Trump once asked to be a member but Huizenga spurned him, according to three of Huizenga’s former employees. All 200-plus members were “honorary” and didn’t pay dues – Huizenga covered everything. “It was a little slice of heaven, a magical place,” former media personality Matt Lauer told the biographer. It’s unclear if Thomas was a member or Huizenga’s frequent guest with similar privileges. The billionaire’s former personal photographer and two former golf pros at the club recalled seeing Thomas there multiple times over the years. One of Huizenga’s helicopter pilots said he had picked the justice up from the property. And a fifth employee, a former waitress and concierge, said she once served Thomas and Huizenga, who were wearing golf attire, as they dined alone in the enormous waterfront clubhouse for lunch.
