Tips to Consider before you Plan a Holiday

In today’s busy times, many people do not have the time to ‘plan’ their vacations well, before-hand. Instead they land up at the destination without having done too much research and seek comfort from the fact that they are away from their otherwise mundane world. This very often leads to disappointments and many people return from their vacation wishing their break was a lot more fulfilling. Besides just ‘knowing’ the destination/s that you will be visiting, there are many important factors that a person needs to take into consideration while planning their holidays. Besides just doing your own research about the destination, it is also important to take into consideration factors such as the climate/weather at the destination, culture of the city, currency used there, language spoken in the city, prominent attractions, shopping venues; to name a few. Whether you travel alone, with your family, with friends or in a group there are many things that you will want to do to fill in the ‘free’ time that you have on hand.

So if you do take this delicious job, be ready to exercise during your lunch hour. Just about every edible item is the work of a food scientist. Most foods, processed and unprocessed, need food scientists to make sure they arrive on your table safe and unspoiled. Food scientists do everything from developing flavors and textures to calculating the nutritional value of foods to adding vitamins to existing products. And yes, this can involve tasting the results of your work. Food scientists work with engineers to develop ways to mass-produce foods and ensure quality control methods. There’s a reason every cookie in the box looks and tastes exactly the same, one never cooked more or less than the other, and why they all fit so perfectly in the box. They figure out ways to take existing foods and enrich them with vitamins and minerals to make them better. Low fat, cholesterol fighters, extra beta-carotene, gluten-free, dairy free, meat substitutes – all of these foods or food additives are developed by food scientists.

The CFP process is usually open anywhere from a week to a month. Once the CFP closes submissions are not allowed and the review process begins. Review processes vary from event to event, but they sometimes will involve a preliminary “weed out” round to remove abstracts that are not well formed, did not follow event instructions, or are not well suited to the conference. The purpose of this “weed out” round is to reduce the workload for the conference for serious review and ranking. Most of the time you don’t need to worry about the “weed out” round, but I’ve seen a few friends get rejected by conferences from not reading CFP instructions for special conditions like “Don’t refer to yourself by name in the abstract” or they’ve submitted 1 hour talks for a 30 minute timeslot. The “don’t refer to yourself by name in the abstract” condition might sound weird, but more and more conferences are doing either entirely blind CFP reviews where reviewers don’t know who submitted a talk or reviews where the first round is blind and then final rankings are made once speaker information is available.

That’s a decent offer for a no-annual-fee card, and the earning structure is simple, too – 1.5x points per dollar on every purchase, with no bonus categories to keep track of. There’s also a 0% intro APR for your first 18 billing cycles for purchases, and for any balance transfers made within the first 60 days of opening your account (then a 17.99% – 27.99% Variable APR) which can be handy if you have big purchases (like textbooks or supplies) you want to pay for over time. The Bank of America® Travel Rewards Credit Card for Students is a good choice if you prefer a straightforward card without having to worry about award charts or transfer partners. It’s also a safe bet if you want to use it while traveling internationally – it doesn’t charge pesky foreign transaction fees, so you won’t be on the hook for extra charges if you use it overseas. However, you won’t find many extras – like travel benefits or purchase protections – with this card.
