With iMacros, you can add the same functionality to Firefox. IMacros lets you record any set of mouse clicks and text actions to run at any time. For example, you could set up a macro to open your expense report on your company’s intranet and enter in your employee ID number and other information automatically. More advanced users can add light programming into their scripts. Macros can be created, edited and accessed from a Firefox sidebar, and the extension comes with about 20 demonstration macros that show off some of the things it can do, such as extracting data from tables, filling forms and saving pages. Xmarks (formerly Foxmarks) is already a popular extension for synchronizing bookmarks among several different computers and across multiple browsers, letting you access the same bookmarks on, say, your work desktop, your laptop and your iMac at home. But the ability to share bookmarks also makes Xmarks an excellent collaboration tool for teams and departments.
The next step is opening an app and casting away. Apps made with the Chromecast SDK have an icon that, when you tap it, opens the cast menu. You may see the icon as soon as you enter the app, or it may appear once you select a video, song or other media to cast. When you click the icon, it prompts you to select a Chromecast (if you have more than one – and you might also see other devices in the menu including Google speakers) and, after a moment, your chosen media should appear on the TV. To stream a particular tab from your browser, move your mouse to the top-right corner of your Chrome window and click the three-dot drop-down menu button. From there, choose the “Cast” menu option. If you have more than one Google device, you can choose the Chromecast you’d like to use from there. But Chrome can do more. Using the same Cast menu, you can also cast media files from your computer or your entire computer screen.
Check your monthly statement to make certain all charges are your own, and immediately notify the card issuer of any errors or unauthorized charges. When you’re applying for a credit card, make sure to pay close attention to the application form. Some forms provide a box that you can check to allow or disallow the selling of your information to mailing lists. You can also protect yourself by taking your name off the major credit bureaus’ mailing lists. One way to do this is to visit The Consumer Credit Reporting Industry Opt-Out Prescreen website, run by Experian, Equifax, TransUnion and Innovis, the four major consumer credit bureaus. On this site you can fill out a form and opt out of receiving pre-approved credit or insurance offers in the mail for a five-year period. When you write to these companies, you’ll need to provide your complete name, mailing address, date of birth and Social Security number. The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) also tracks consumers who prefer not to receive solicitations by mail or phone.
Hemingway, though, was drinking heavily alone at the Finca, and wrote less and less often. To Gellhorn’s mother, with whom he got on well, he wrote that he felt he was dying a little every day. Jealous of Gellhorn but unwilling to join her, he wrote to Max Perkins that he hadn’t “done a damned thing I wanted to do now for well over two years… I guess no one else has either except Martha who does exactly what she wants to do as willfully as any spoiled child… Cuba” and bringing him back to Europe. “I am wondering now if it ever really worked … This time, her return was not so happy. They fought over everything – over the house, over writing, over money –and Hemingway went so far as to write to Gellhorn’s mother saying that he felt she had become unbalanced during her time in Europe.
